Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, participated in the Egyptian-Thai Business Forum, organized by the Federation of Thai Industries in cooperation with the Thai-Egyptian Business Council in Bangkok, with the participation of representatives of companies and business circles, within the framework of His Excellency's visit to Thailand and the convening of the third session of the Joint Ministerial Committee.
The Foreign Minister delivered a speech at the forum during which he affirmed that strengthening the economic partnership between Egypt and Thailand represents a major priority in bilateral relations, stressing the keenness of the Egyptian government to open new horizons for trade and investment and facilitate the establishment of partnerships between the Egyptian and Thai private sector companies.
The Minister also reviewed Egypt's potentials as an investment destination and a hub for production and exportation, foremost of which are the expanding domestic market, the developed infrastructure, the strategic location, and the available opportunities in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, in addition to free trade agreements that allow preferential access to regional markets, including the African Continental Free Trade Area, inviting Thai companies to explore cooperation opportunities in manufacturing, food industries, textiles, rubber, manufacturing industries, tourism, and logistics services.
On the sidelines of the forum, the Minister met with Ms. Pojaram Leelarungrayub, President of the Federation of Thai Industries, where they discussed ways to enhance industrial cooperation, expand joint investments, intensify communication between the Federation of Thai Industries and the Federation of Egyptian Industries, exchange business delegations, and participate in specialized exhibitions.
The Minister emphasized the importance of building upon the outcomes of the Joint Ministerial Committee and the forum's discussions to turn the proposed opportunities into tangible projects that achieve mutual benefits for both sides.
