Abu Dhabi Company for Touristic Investments Completes Phase One Renovations of Mercure Hurghada Hotel at a Cost of USD 60 Million

Hamdy Ahmed_ Abu Dhabi Company for Touristic Investments has completed the first phase of the renovation works at the "Mercure Hurghada" Hotel.

This phase includes upgrading the arrival and guest reception experience and the new lobby, in preparation for receiving the Christmas and New Year holiday season, and ahead of rebranding the hotel to "Mövenpick" by the beginning of 2027.

The completion of this phase comes amid expectations of strong turnout during the holiday season, supported by the current boom witnessed by the company's hotels, where occupancy rates exceed 90%.

Yahya Kotb, CEO of Abu Dhabi Company for Touristic Investments, stated in remarks to "Hapi" that the cost of renovating the first phase of the hotel amounts to USD 60 million, as part of an investment program exceeding a total value of USD 100 million to renovate the company's hotels in Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh, including the executed works and remaining phases.

Kotb pointed out, in a statement issued by the company, that the completion of the arrival experience and the new lobby is a major step in developing the Hurghada hotel, in preparation for welcoming guests of the holiday season and transitioning to the Mövenpick brand early next year.

He explained that the company continues to inject investments to complete the other renovation phases, noting the completion of about 80% of the renovation works at the "Mövenpick Sharm El-Sheikh" hotel, in parallel with the continued execution of the rest of the program.
