Reuters_ Jack Clark, co-founder of Anthropic, said on Saturday that the rapid improvement in artificial intelligence capabilities will lead to much faster changes across all fields, as one of the company's internal economic models predicts that it could significantly increase the economic output of the United States to reach $44 trillion by 2030.
Speaking during the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Bangkok, Clark added that international cooperation is essential to establish "extraordinary and strict rules" for this technology.
Clark noted that the $44 trillion figure, compared to the current level of just over $30 trillion, "looks very weird," but AI is contributing to a massive increase in scientific discoveries.
He continued: "I know that, but this is contingent on the continued improvement of this technology. If GDP is going to grow that much, economic principles suggest that new industries and inventions will need to be created to support such a massive economic expansion."
