As part of the activities of the "Capacity Building for Enhancing Development – Know to Benefit" conference held under the auspices of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, whose proceedings were inaugurated yesterday, Thursday, by the Chairman of the Authority, Dr. Islam Azzam, and the Governor of Alexandria, Engineer Ayman Attia, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz, Assistant Chairman of the Authority, delivered an interactive awareness lecture at the covered hall of the Alexandria Stadium to introduce non-banking financial activities and deepen financial culture.
The Authority was keen to ensure that the lecture was open to all female and male citizens of Alexandria of various ages, and it was marked by a large attendance, particularly students from various educational stages, universities, and institutes, as well as women and youth, in parallel with their attendance at the activities exhibition held at the Alexandria Stadium.
Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz delivered a detailed presentation in a simplified language about non-banking financial activities, investment paths ranging from the capital market to insurance and non-banking finance, the important economic role played by these activities, and how to use non-banking financial technology to achieve returns from safe investments under full supervision.
He focused in his explanation on how different age and economic groups can benefit from these activities, including factoring, financial leasing, and mortgage finance, as well as the positive developmental impacts of medium, small, and micro enterprise financing activity on citizens in recent years, specifically women in the most in-need areas, to economically empower them and protect them from various risks.
The Assistant Chairman of the Authority highlighted the basics of entering the capital market world, the key concepts that small investors must understand before trading on the Egyptian Exchange, and the necessary elements for making sound investment decisions, away from illegal influences and negative practices of anonymous pages and groups on the internet and social media platforms.
He also spoke about the importance of investment funds and other safe and supervised investment channels to maximize citizens' benefit from their savings, as part of the state's efforts to combat the phenomenon of illegal fund investment, popularly known as "Al-Mustareeh," which usually ends in fraud, scams, and the wasting of citizens' resources.
Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz explained the pivotal regulatory and supervisory role played by the Authority in protecting dealers, ensuring the continuous growth of investment channels and expanding their benefit to enhance financial inclusion for the benefit of various segments of society.
The lecture witnessed widespread interaction from the attendees, especially children, youth, and women, who moved from the basic information they acquired to asking deeper inquiries and questions about the requirements for benefiting from insurance and financing products and services available through smart applications, and the paths sponsored by the Authority to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in the activities subject to its supervision.
The "Capacity Building for Enhancing Development" conference, with its public activities in Alexandria, reflects the Financial Regulatory Authority's orientation to enhance communication with state institutions and business community representatives in the governorates, and to develop non-banking financial markets in a way that achieves a balance between supporting growth and investment, raising the quality of services, protecting the rights of dealers, and maximizing the sector's contribution to the national economy.
