President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi chaired this morning at Al-Ittihadiya Palace the meeting of the National Defense Council, in the presence of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Prime Minister, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, the Ministers of Interior, Finance, and Foreign Affairs, the Head of General Intelligence, the Commanders of the Main Branches of the Armed Forces, the Chief of the Armed Forces Operations Authority, the Head of the Military Intelligence Authority, and the Secretary General of the National Defense Council.
The official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the National Defense Council reviewed the overall current regional developments and the grave escalations the region is witnessing, particularly in light of the escalating unacceptable attacks against the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and accordingly decided the following:
1 – Standing in complete solidarity and full alignment with the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stemming from the historical relations and solid bonds uniting the peoples of the two brotherly nations as the heart of the Arab nation, and out of the firm conviction that Saudi national security is inextricably linked to Egyptian and Arab national security.
2 – Providing all necessary and possible forms of support to the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to defend its security and stability, and to safeguard its resources, territorial integrity, and Islamic holy sites.
3 – Continuing and intensifying political and diplomatic efforts, in coordination with relevant regional and international parties, in a manner that contributes to de-escalating tensions across the entire region and peacefully resolving the crises confronting it.
