Omar Radwan: The Success of MNT-Halan IPO Reflects Investor Confidence and Supports Corporate Growth Financing

Shahinda Ibrahim – Omar Radwan, Executive Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), stated that the commencement of official trading on the shares of “MNT-Halan”, following the success of its initial public offering (IPO) amid strong demand from local and international investors, reflects confidence in the Egyptian capital market and its ability to provide diversified financing sources for companies.

During the ringing of the bell ceremony, Radwan emphasized that the listing of MNT-Halan on the EGX does not merely represent adding a new stock to the market, but rather reflects the strategic vision aimed at enhancing the role of the Egyptian Exchange as a national platform for financing the sustainable growth of economic entities.

He noted that the company's journey offers a model for transforming ideas and startups into growing economic entities and tangible assets, explaining that entering the capital market enables companies to leverage innovative and diversified financing instruments, supporting their expansion plans and maximizing shareholder returns.

He stressed that the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opens its doors to companies operating across various sectors, particularly major institutions and fintech companies, alongside small, medium, and emerging enterprises, enhancing their ability to access new funding sources and supporting their growth and development.

Radwan highlighted the remarkable increase in the number of new investors in the Egyptian Exchange, pointing out that their numbers rose from approximately 229,000 investors in 2020 to nearly 299,000 investors last year, while the number of new investors during the current year is approaching 600,000 investors.

He added that the total number of new investors has surpassed one million investors when taking these figures into account, noting that youth under the age of thirty represent at least half of this segment, reflecting the growing interest of new generations in capital market investments.
