Dr. Islam Azzam, Chairman of الجهاز العامة للرقابة المالية, extends his deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the tragic traffic accident that occurred today within Fayoum Governorate, involving a collision between a passenger bus and a heavy transport truck, which resulted—according to initial tolls—in the death of 13 and the injury of more than 34 persons. He prays to the Almighty to bestow His vast mercy upon the deceased, grant their families patience and solace, and grant a speedy recovery to those injured in the accident.
In the context of monitoring the repercussions of the accident, Dr. Islam Azzam directed the Egyptian Motor Vehicle Compulsory Insurance Pool to promptly take the necessary measures to disburse the compensation due to the families of the victims and the injured in accordance with the Unified Insurance Law No. (155) of 2024.
He also directed immediate communication with the families of the deceased and the injured, facilitating procedures for them, and working towards the swift disbursement of the prescribed compensation, which amounts to EGP 100,000 for each case of death, while the value of injury compensation is determined according to the percentage of disability approved by the medical commission, pursuant to the provisions of the Unified Insurance Law, within the limits of the prescribed insurance coverages, immediately upon receipt and completion of the accident documents, with the prompt finalization of the settlement of compensation for the beneficiaries upon proof of the validity of the compulsory insurance policy.
In a prompt response to the directives of the FRA Chairman, the Executive Director of the Egyptian Motor Vehicle Compulsory Insurance Pool affirmed that the Pool's representatives will communicate with the families of the victims to complete the required documents in preparation for commencing the disbursement of compensation as soon as possible.
