Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, confirmed during the "Energy Journey" session on the fourth day of the Egypt 2026 Forum that rationalization measures have reduced fuel and gas consumption by 20%.

El Dabaa Plant Will Save $4 Billion When Fully Operational

Kouchouk pointed out that the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant will achieve savings of up to $4 billion when fully operational, noting that storage technology has also contributed to achieving significant savings.

He stated that the Ministry seeks to convert 1,000 megawatts in factories and other facilities to renewable energy, which is expected to achieve savings worth $145 million in the cost of gas used to produce the same quantity.
